Christmas 2012 has come and gone and what a wonderful season it was. The youth enjoyed an outing to Santa Land with a stop at McDonald’s on the way home. Several of the adults enjoyed an outing a little closer to home. Christmas in Carthage, a show put on by the Panola Pipers, provided wonderful music and food to make the season bright. Advent was celebrated each Sunday in December as the different Sunday School classes shared an advent thought and light the advent candles.
Several of our shut-in’s received welcomed gift baskets from the Sisters-in-Christ. Speaking of sharing on the 12th a number of our folks shared the music of the season with residents of the local nursing homes and shared some great tasting chili. On the 16th Melissa Bailey and Missy Shnaper led the youth and choir in a celebration, First Christian Church Family Christmas. Everyone involved did a wonderful job. We had many family members in the audience to enjoy the evening together.
On the 24th we gathered again as family for our Christmas Eve Communion and White Gift offering. We had the largest gathering ever and Bo shared some great thoughts on the gifts God has given us in the giving of his son. Here’s hoping your Christmas was as blessed and we are already looking forward to Christmas 2013!
