Just a little heads up for all you guys out there, February 14th is on its way, and I’m not talking that it’s a week after the Super Bowl. Valentine’s Day is on its way. For some folks that idea strikes fear into their hearts. For others it is the day of dreams, which may or may not come true. We put a lot of pressure on Cupid to come through in a pinch. We spend time, money and well everything else trying to make sure that those dreams come true and if they don’t well the day is ruined. But is it?
Our life needs love as much as we need air, maybe even more. So why do we place so much of our life in the hands of those who can so easily let us down or come up short? It’s not that they even mean to be mean, but we are after all just human. Something as important as our heart definitely needs to be in the hands of an awesome God, a God who has shown us over and over how much he loves us. That’s not to say we need to forego the love of our loved ones. If anything the love of God doesn’t take away from our love for others, but adds to it. Because I have the love of God to anchor my life I can be bolder in how I love others. My life is not just in the hands of an imperfect human, but the hands of a perfect God.
