There Ought To Be a Hall of Fame for Momma’s

Blessed Country Praise has done this song a dozen times, usually sung by Bruce James.  It has a great message with a greater truth; we need to let our moms know how much they mean to us.  After all the sacrifices that mothers make every day for their kids one day a year isn’t asking too much.  But what are we giving her, a card we spent two minutes picking out or a meal from her favorite restaurant?  Either way when you weigh all she has done even a five course meal at the most expensive place seems pretty cheap.  And what would mom’s response be to all this?  “You shouldn’t have gone to so much trouble and expense.”  Sometimes there’s just no winning with mom.
This reminds us that sometimes we just take certain people or situations for granted, people who have been there for us time and time again.  And again the problem is often how do we say thanks to such people.  How do we let God know how much we owe him?  One way in all these situations is to pay it forward, to give to others what we have been given.  Mom wants to know that we will raise our children with the love that she gave to us.  Your favorite teacher from school would love to know that you take time to pass along to others the lessons you learned from them.  God calls us to let others know the good things we have received from him.
The best way to let mom know how much you love her is by telling someone else how much you love her.  The best way to let God know how much you love him is to tell everyone you know how much he has done for you.
