WHY REVIVAL?

In a few weeks we will gather for our Spring revival with our old friends, Broken Vessels, and some new friends, Faith’s Journey.  We know the excitement and energy that Scott and Lisa Roberts bring to a time of worship and revival, and I can only imagine that the Edwards will only add to that.  But in this time of cellphones and instant access to multimedia why something as old as a revival?  Well as much “fun” as Facebook can be and even with all the access that Rightnow media gives us to great lessons and speakers, you just can’t beat the atmosphere on being there.  I truly believe that we gain something tangible through each other’s presence that can’t be replicated through a cellphone or a TV screen.  Revival is a time of encouragement, a time to reconnect with the Lord and with each other.  We will have times of fellowship with food, but also time to visit, to praise and to be inspired through the word.

     I know that in a busy life finding time, even for a few days, is hard to do.  I also know that sometimes making time is the most important thing we can do.  It means a lot to me as the pastor to have these times of drawing together, to be the body of Christ in a real way.  Revivals are always a boost to my spirit, but even more so when we have a good turn out.  So mark your calendar, reschedule your calendar, make room in your calendar and pencil in March 22-24.  It will be worth your time and effort to be there.  The spiritual blessing can’t be measured in a physical cost, but the lift it will give you is priceless.
